"The flood of new imagery capabilities is overwhelming. Data driven technologies like artificial intelligence are essential," Gen. Richard Clarke, head of Special Operations Command, told the annual GEOINT conference today.
NGA's Chief Information Office Mark Andress said he has an entire engineering team dedicated to certifying the accuracy and validity of imagery products and the metadata around them.
Balancing security and access to data are critical to providing users with trustworthy, reliable data for real-time decisions.
"Kind of like the mountains Lewis and Clark had to scale, data is a mountain we have to climb," NGA Director Vice Adm. Robert Sharp said at GEOINT 2021.
